Thank You SIFF and Friends!

Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped support us at this year's Seattle International Film Festival. And a big thank you to SIFF for the wonderful opportunity and the gracious hospitality they provided! They treated us like royalty and we greatly appreciated it. It was quite the success for us humble filmmakers and so, so much fun! We made lots of new friends and met up with quite a few old ones as well! It's festivals like SIFF that makes us so proud to be local, independent filmmakers. An experience we'll never forget and one we hope to be a part of again soon.

Since then, we all have gotten back into our regular routines with work and our families. Because of that, we haven't really been able to share some of our most recent news and upcoming releases. So here we are, ready to share some joy!

First off, since SIFF selected "Do You See Colors When You Close Your Eyes?" to play at their festival, we have received a small handful of requests from other festivals to screen our film for a potential selection at their festival, as well! As we wait for confirmation from some of these fests, we have two that we'd like to announce will be playing later this month of September. One festival is the Athens International Film Festival. The other is the Montreal International Black Film Festival. If you or anyone you know will be hanging around Athens, Greece or Montreal, Quebec later this September, be sure to check out these two festivals!

Second, after months of trying various edits and procuring additional interviews, we are happy to say we are a step or two closer to finally releasing the short documentary that is "Keep It Cinematic." We appreciate everyone's patience as we cut this doc together, as we have had some set backs, such as preparing for SIFF, additional festivals, and our everyday work life (including the talent's). The biggest step we have before releasing this gem is the mixing and remastering of audio, which will pose no problem to our beloved audio technician once we reach the final edit soon.

And for the least interesting news of the day... we are working on structuring a new website that will be easier for us to update and easier for you, the viewer, to get to what you want, good ol' hardcore indie filmmaking action! Our address will remain the same (www.labfilms-nw.com) but hopefully soon, in the little spare time we try to muster, we will deliver to you a brand spanking new site that will be up to date with everything we do. So be on the lookout for we are trying to make sure all our fans and friends stay current with what we do!

Thank you again to everyone reading. Thank you again to all our friends and family that visited and supported us through SIFF's festival. Once again, a very BIG thank you to everyone at SIFF that made our visit so enjoyable and encouraging as visiting filmmakers to their program. We truly thank everyone who has known us these past seven years, as we try to recreate our visions.

In closing, we'd like to include the trailer to "Keep It Cinematic." Soon, we'll be able to show off the whole thing!

Love,
Everyone at LAB Films-NW

Northwest Connections in The Seattle Times

In this last edition of Sunday's Seattle Times, they printed an article featuring "Do You See Colors When You Close Your Eyes?" along with other films playing SIFF as part of the Northwest Connections!

Here is what was said about our film:

"I really loved this film — it's a beautiful story, and it drew me in," said Barrett of Bellingham filmmaker Caleb Young's drama of a family tragedy. Shot in Washington over just seven days, it stars Sage Price in the dual role of twin brothers. (7 p.m. May 31 at the Admiral; 11 a.m. June 4 at the Harvard Exit)

SIFF 2011 Updates

Lots has been going on and we've feverishly been trying to keep up with SIFF. We have announced our show dates with location, but if you'd like to purchase your tickets in advance (which we strongly recommend to ensure your admittance) please visit SIFF's official page for our film where you can find all the details and can also purchase the tickets!

SIFF: Do You See Colors When You Close Your Eyes?

On Saturday, May 7th, we were invited to attend the Museum of History and Industry's "History Is ______" awards ceremony for short films. There, Caleb and Josh walked down the red carpet with four stops for press interviews. We watched the winners of this short film competition along with trailers to some of the Northwest Connections films premiering at SIFF (this includes "Colors"!) We met some great local filmmakers along with the staff at SIFF, all very wonderful people!

We were fortunate to see our buddy Sam Kelly was doing one of the interviews!

Here, Caleb was lucky enough to hop on stage and say a quick word about "Colors"
along with the rest of the Northwest Connections filmmakers.

All in all, we had a great time at the event. Wonderful food and desserts were served!

On May 9th, Cameron had the chance to visit the next local filmmakers "meet and greet" at Via Tribunali in Queen Anne. Again, there was some wonderful food served along with great conversations. He met several of the filmmakers and staff involved with the festival and had a great time.

We're all very excited to be experiencing this amazing festival. Be sure you visit the above link to check us out as an official SIFF listing and get your tickets early! Thank you for all the support.

Love,
LAB Films

P.S. Almost forgot! Be sure to read up on some of the other films showing at SIFF. They have an amazing line up this year, just as they do every year. Soon, we'll let you know what we're looking forward to catching, and you should find some films to catch, too!

Official Selection of SIFF

As some of you may have heard, our latest feature, "Do You See Colors When You Close Your Eyes?" has been selected to premier at Seattle International Film Festival. We are very honored to participate in this festival and we are all very lucky to have such an incredible event so close to home! We quickly whipped up all our press materials for the festival and now we patiently wait for more details from the festival.

This years festival goes from May 19th through June 12th. We do not know when our film will show at this time, but as soon as we find out, we will let everyone know as soon as we do. Until that time comes, we'd appreciate it if everyone could help us spread the word about our upcoming premier. We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to join us at SIFF!

We are currently working on getting our website, www.labfilms-nw.com, a new face lift that we can easily update with the latest information we have for the festival, along with all our projects we work on.

Thank you again for everyone's support. We have always greatly appreciated our friends and family and cannot wait to share this experience with them.

Two years after the death of Jonathan, Christian (Jon's fiance) and Michael (Jon's twin brother) sneak into the twin's parents' house and steal Jon's urn and take a road trip, scattering his ashes in all the places he was never able to see. During this trip, they begin an affair in an attempt to understand a part of Jonathan they never knew before.
